ADRIAN & BLISSFIELD RAIL ROAD COMPANY
(ADBF) is a short line railroad as well as a holding company operating a total of five short-line railroads in southeastern Michigan. ADBF’s operation began in 1991, with a 20-mile line between Adrian and Riga, Michigan. This line runs through the towns of Blissfield and Palmyra, Madison Township, and then into Adrian along the route of the original Erie & Kalamazoo Railroad Line, the oldest rail line in the state of Michigan (the Old Road). The Adrian and Blissfield line currently runs freight as well as the famous weekend Old Road Dinner Train. In addition to this legacy Lenawee County line, ADBF operates the Charlotte Southern Railroad (CHS), the Detroit Connecting Railroad (DCON), the Jackson & Lansing Railroad (JAIL), and the Lapeer Industrial Railroad (LIRR) linking us to the NS, CSX and CN railroads.
